Residential Institutions Redress Board
The Redress Board was set up to make awards to persons who, as children, were abused while resident in industrial schools, reformatories and other state institutions.

The site content is clearly written, with lots of information to help survivors of institutional abuse, their friends and families, in applying to the Redress Board for compensation.

Education Finance Board
Established in 2006 as part of the Indemnity Agreement reached between the State religious congregations, the Education Finance Boards makes finanical grants available to former residents of institutions and their relatives to assist them in the availing of educational services.

Irish Government Commission to Inquire Into Child Abuse
The official site, maintained by the Government to inform update the public on information concerning the Commission to Inquire Into Child Abuse.

While it does contain some rather technical and legal sections, there is nevertheless lots of useful information here for survivors. Survivors and their friends and families will find the Information Leaflet section particularly useful.

Questions and Answers for Survivors, Regarding the Commission and Redress Board
This very useful set of questions and answers was written by Sally Mulready, Secretary of the Federation Of Irish Societies. Sally has taken care to address the types of questions that survivors are likely to ask, and to answer them in plain English.

Provides support for all people, including the Religious of Integrity, who state that they are innocent of allegations of child abuse being made against them.

Child Protection Office
The Child Protection Office of the Irish Bishops’ Conference was established in July 2001 to advise bishops, clergy and lay people on best practice in responding to complaints of child abuse against members of the Catholic Church, and to implement best practice procedures in working with children and young people across the Catholic Church community in Ireland.
