A court has heard claims that a Catholic priest from Northern Ireland gave thousands of pounds to a friend to help him groom a young girl for sex.
Liverpool Crown Court was told Fr Jeremiah McGrath allegedly gave the money to 38-year-old William Adams, who used it to buy gifts for an 11-year-old girl he had befriended in Liverpool.
The 62-year-old priest from Roslea, Co Fermanagh, is accused of three counts of facilitating the commission of a child for a sexual offence and one count of sexual assault.
He denies the charges.
