Goodbye Jim, hello Colm, you will fit right in -

Added on May 1, 2006

Sunday Independent
" Last week, O'Gorman bounced onto the Pat Kenny radio programme and - in place of his usual impressiveness - he came over as Jackie Healy Rae with a better haircut. Perhaps it was nervousness.

Kenny asked if O'Gorman would remain active in PD politics, as a candidate for a council or the EU, if he isn't elected to the Dail. O'Gorman evaded the question. Instead of an answer, he stated the commonplace fact that the people of Wexford decide who will be TD.

Asked again what he would do if he fails to be elected TD, he said, "I'm not somebody who talks about failure. I'm somebody who . . . " Etc etc etc. Just like . . . well, just like a politician.

"I believe in the business of politics."

Please, Colm, don't say it, oh please, don't say it . . .

"I can deliver for the people of Wexford . . . " Oh, dear.

Goodbye Jim McDaid, I hope you weren't too damaged by the severely dysfunctional system that in this country passes for parliamentary democracy. Hello, Colm O'Gorman. "
