An abused childs tears

Added on June 30, 2009

Good day:

I am from America and have heard about the neglect and abuse of children in institutions across Ireland. I am appalled!
I have written a poem in dedication to them.
Please let them know that I am behind them all 100%.
Thank you.

An abused childs tears

Between the walls of this place

That I will vehemently call hell

Where children are supposed to be safe

But were told not to tell

The people you're supposed to trust

Who were to walk with god

Were supposed to protect our souls

And spare us from the rod

An abused Childs tears

And a stomach all wrenched in knots

What are the secrets the tears hold

As our innocence slowly rot

 Beat us and hurt us

Do things you're not to do

 Can anybody hear our cries

 Or are you afraid too?

 You can never imagine

The hate running  through your veins

 There is never any hope

As you pray through all your pains

 An abused childs tears

And a stomach all wrenched in knots

What are the secrets the tears hold

 As our innocence slowly rot

We would try to be brave

And show you we didn't care

But let me tell you this much

 The torture we did bare

 With clenched teeth and pain

 Eyes tightly shut closed

At times we wished to die

Rather than have our souls exposed

An abused childs tears

And a stomach all wrenched in knots

What are the secrets the tears hold

 As our innocence slowly rot

 The secrets and the whispers

 Will forever more be true

 And not believing in us

 Will always be on you

There is a story to tell

And now you'll have to listen

 We have finally had enough

All our tears will shine and glisten

An abused childs tears

And a stomach all wrenched in knots

Here are all the secrets our tears hold

Listen....as our innocence try not to rot
