Church?s fortune stance a bit rich

Perhaps these two religious apologists could explain the difference between all of these ?superstitions?, Christianity included. As a person unbridled by the burden of religiosity I can appreciate why people are turning their backs on religion to seek solace in other, similarly totally unproven, means.

A fortune teller?s prediction that you will come into some money has at least more chance of being true than some holyman insisting that God created the universe and will send us to purgatory for our sins.

To label such practices as amoney-making industry is deeply ironic considering the enormous wealth in the hands of the church on which it pays no tax.

Moreover, I?m not aware of any astrologers, tarot readers or fortune tellers employing people to call to people?s homes for money, owning thousands of acres of green belt land and watching their own share investments as keenly as those lost souls they would save.

Mr Quinn pronounced that Christianity provides humanity with an ethical code. Does he really believe such rubbish?

Christianity in this country alone has been responsible for some of the most brutal educational regimes, forced abortions, blatant sectarianism, not to mention the dozens of religious paedophiles whose odious crimes were hushed up by their superiors. Religion is the biggestracket of all.
