Priest charged with sex attack

AN 83-year-old priest was sent for trial yesterday on charges of indecently assaulting a young girl 30 years ago.
The Tipperary-based cleric, who cannot be named, is charged with three indecent assaults on the girl when she was aged 11 and 12 at a house in north Dublin in 1977and 1978.
In Dublin District Court yesterday, he was served with a book of evidence and sent forward for trial to the next sittings of the Circuit Criminal Court. Judge Bryan Smyth ordered that his original bail bond of ?500 should continue for the purpose of his trial.
