Missionary to be sentenced over child abuse

A missionary brother who indecently assaulted his teenage nephew while on holiday has been remanded in custody for sentence on 9 March by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The Capuchin Order brother pleaded guilty to two counts of indecently assaulting his nephew on dates unknown between 27 February 1978 and 27 February 1982 at two locations in Ireland.
Judge O'Donnell has adjourned the sentence of the 51-year-old brother to consider the seriousness of the offences and the submissions made to him in mitigation.
